Mobispine back from Web 2.0 Summit in USA

Hi all,

I had the chance to attend a couple of great conferences last week in San Francisco, USA. One of the conferences was Web 2.0 and the others was mobile 2.0. In these places i had the opportunity to meet up with great people from our whole industry! Very interesting people and stuff! Now we just need to implement all ideas, get the partnerships going and create more value for our user base at the end.

I also ran into some other interesting Swedish entrepreneurs together with Beata Wickbom from SIME. By the way, I recommend SIME for you who would like to network around Stockholm pretty soon!

Do you Twitter?

It seems like everyone nowadays is Twitter-ing or Jaiku-ing. We do some twittering and we think it should be easy for users to do Twittering from mobispine as well as using for the normal reading & sharing of news.

We are working on a fist version of a Twitter mashup with mobispine and we count to have that one live for you during end of October. If you happen to have any ideas just let us know and we will listen to you. ok?

So for now we hope you can go on Twittering and using mobispine for some weeks and then try them out together.

Facebook and mobispine is live now

Hey,
You should now try out our new Facebook app which is very exciting (we think so)! Basically you could share cool news from your phone to your Facebook friend's phones by one simple click! By having good friends who share news with you then you will get really releabnt recommendations and news from them to you.

How do I use mobispine & Facebook?
1) Simply add the application on facebook
2) Invite some friends byu sending invitations on facebook
3) Type in your "User ID" in order to get started. You find the user ID in your mobile mobispine application under Settings, My Account.

Why is this mashup between Mobispine and Facebook interesting?
1) Mobile news recommendations
2) The recommendations are done by a trusted party, your friends
3) We leveraged the existing networks at Facebook so you could distribute the news to friends easily
We would be excited to hear from you what you think, what is good, what could be improved etc.

Nokia N95 now works again!

Hi everyone,
We have some good news for everyone with Nokia N95 phones. Previously we had some problems with the mo-blogging functionality for the N 95's... However, the bug is fixed by our developers and it works now fine.
You can now try attaching pictures or videos and easily post the multimedia-rich blogs.

Some interesting words about Google, their Reader product and feeds in general

It is fairly interesting to see how Google Reader is trying to monetize feeds. Some players like Center Networks even believe that Feed Monetization will be 2008's hot topic. It is going to be interesting to see what happens to feed in the future.

I am Svante Frey at Mobispine, one of the developers at the Stockholm office. It’s working... there
are only some issues with the feeds that we published to the mobile phone, but
the normal blogging works.

We are very happy to announce that we now have more than 10 millions of news articles indexed in our database.

All of them are fairly fresh and very updated news articles, maximum 30 days

At mobispine we try to deliver a simple to use mobile app for mobile content. We want people to get entertained by reading news & blogs on the go from the app.

In order to continue doing the right things we need your help. We need feedback from people who actually sit somewhere in the world using mobispine. You might like part of what we are doing and you might dislike other things we do. It doesn't matter. New Mobispine available

Hi everyone,
The summer is coming to all of us in Europe. As we are mostly based in Sweden and Romania it is starting to get warm for us but we do our best to keep on the goood work and do some improvements of the mobispine user experience for all of you users.
This release was kind of major for all of us. Here is an overview of improvements:
* New front page - it looks more like an application, nice colors..
* One and only one search in the main menu. You can from there search for topics or the source, author of a blog etc.
* User Interface improvements, easier navigation when going back/forward etc
* Support for HTC phones. it looks now really nice when using HTC phones. Please try it if you have one of those phoens available :)

Why Mobispine Has An Advantage Over Other Search Giants

Pretty interesting feedback from Mobile Marketing Watch. Thank you guys for the feedback.

"I came across mobispine today on mashable. What is it? A mobile search engine and rss feed directory.

You need look no further then the home page to see just how powerful it could become. I watched 31 new feeds in multiple languages scroll by in a 1 minute period. Users are feeding mobispine in mass quantity and the data appears to be freshly posted (0o minutes ago, 1 minute ago, etc…).

Kristen Nicole from Mashable didn’t like the fact that a download was required for the service and I agree but mobispine has at least 1 huge advantage over the search giants that I’m not seeing others pick up on. Can you guess what that might be? Speed to indexing.

I submitted my feed, had it discovered: I immediately searched the index for my feed and found it in the mobise directory. This all occurred within seconds. Try and get something into Google, Yahoo or Microsoft that quickly and let me know how that works out for you."

Sweden-based Mobispine is looking to build the world’s largest feed directory for mobile phones. Users can contribute to the database by adding feeds, which other users can also subscribe to. Mobispine has an online component as well, which lets you search and view feeds, see related feeds, and leave comments on particular feeds. Mobispine also has a recommendation system, which shows feeds that suggest others like. After continued use, Mobispine will also alter your search results based on your ongoing search behavior.
